Summer Retreats

We held a Summer Retreat at Teachers College focused on deepening culturally relevant mathematics pedagogy and strengthening curriculum connections. Dr. Sandra Okita led continued work on Culturally Relevant Mathematics Pedagogy, and Dr. Erica N. Walker provided a refresher on CRMP. Dr. Irina Lyublinskaya facilitated sessions on cognitive demand in mathematics tasks, including how it connects to Birds and Bots activities and how to evaluate task demand when technology is involved. We also reviewed results from the Year 2 implementation presented by graduate research assistants: Marcus, Chamarra and Connor. Teachers continued reviewing selected fall activities, co designed new B squared activities to address missing curriculum topics, and participated in Finch challenges.
